This week is all about preparation of the LOWA Lifting Series at the weekend. We start the week with Snatch and Clean & Jerk up to start weights. This is to set up our strategy for the competition, get a feel for how the warm-up should go and if the start weights are suitable for the targets that you have set your self.
We start with some snatch pull and power snatch to get that bar path and speed of turnover going, the aim is to feel sharp for the weekend. We then have power clean, heave jerk and jerk. This is aimed at being confident with the Jerk. Really maximising that drive phase before snapping under the bar. We will then have 10 minutes of further jerk practise. Here your coach will take you through further drills to make sure you know exactly how you are going to attack your Jerks at the weekend.
Snatch and Clean & Jerk up to last warm-up weight before hitting the platform. This is really drill that warm-up routine.
We have muscular snatch for bar path and turnover work, followed by snap under and snatch balance to get comfortable under the bar. We have then power clean and power Jerk to work on speed and acceleration.
The session is all about staying loose. We have 10 minutes of snatch light, work on speed and movement. We have the same for the clean & Jerk. We finish the session with mobility, working on ankles, hips, spine and everything in between. Great session before competition.
Competition day. Weigh-In at 12pm. You'll then be put into groups and given a rough guide to how the day will be pan out. Lift off begins at 1pm...
'Its going to be another fun day. Look forward to seeing you all there.'
