This weeks training notes
It's comp week! This week is all about getting prepared for Saturday's LOWA Club comp, make sure you're booked in! Weigh in is 9-10 and lift-off will be soon after that..
Today is all about working out your start weights for Saturday, making sure you're happy with what you're looking to open on. It's also a good chance to practise your warm ups, and make sure you're comfortable with that process so you're relaxed when you come to do it on Saturday! We will warm up both lifts, and go up to our openers. Then we finish off with some Front Squats to get some confidence under those weights.
All about sharpness, speed and power - starting with Muscular Clean to drill acceleration and position in the turnover. Then Power Clean and Power Jerk to drill speed in the movement, and keep nice straight lines with the bar. Boxed Good Mornings will condition the posterior chain, working on moving in and out of this one to full range with good rhythm. Jerk Balance will also work our rhythm in the Jerk, and Pancake Stretch for the adductors.
Today is about drilling the warm ups for each lift, and going up to our last warm up weight to make sure we have that well practised, it's also a good chance to make sure we're comfortable with how we will get prepared on the day. We finish up with Back Squats for 4's.
We work mobility and stability in the squat with Press Behind Neck, then Power Snatch to work on our speed and catching the bar high, look to get the arms locked out fast here. Snap Unders will get us confident dropping to the weight. Then we work some mobility with hand walk-out stretch and lunge and hamstring stretch.
Today is all about getting mobilised and keeping things relaxed before Saturday, a chance to have a play with movement, and get some active recovery work in so we feel good for Saturday!
Competition day! Weigh-in will start at 9am, then lifters will be grouped and lift off will be soon after 10am. We're looking forward to a fun day and some good lifting!
